TIVAR® HPV is a bearing-grade UHMW-PE with a proprietary internal dry lubricant that cuts coefficient of friction by up to 80% versus standard UHMW-PE — without oils, greases, or re-lubrication schedules. It's built for chain guides, sliding strips, wear bends, and rollers running hot, fast, and unattended.
Standard UHMW-PE already runs low-friction and self-lubricating. TIVAR® HPV goes further by compounding a dry lubricant directly into the resin, so the low-friction surface doesn't wear away or need reapplication — it regenerates as the part wears.
Directional comparison of dynamic coefficient of friction against a steel counterface. Lower is better. Values reflect Mitsubishi Chemical Group published test data; actual results vary with load, speed, and surface finish.
The built-in lubricant matters most where parts see constant sliding contact and are hard to reach for maintenance.
Indicative values from Mitsubishi Chemical Group product datasheet, dry material at room temperature. Not for specification — verify against the current MCG datasheet for design purposes.

Both grades share the same built-in dry lubricant chemistry. The difference is regulatory fit for the environment the part lives in.
The base bearing grade. FDA 21 CFR §177.1520 compliant in natural blue coloring, built for chain guides, sliding strips, corner wear bends, and roller/bushing applications in general industrial, packaging, and bulk-handling equipment.
Formulated for food and beverage processing lines running high speeds, high loads, elevated temperatures, and aggressive washdown chemistry — where the low-COF, high-limiting-PV performance of HPV needs to hold up under sanitation cycles.
