In addition to our vast inventory you can be assured of the following:
The nature of the industrial plastics industry is ever-growing and ever-changing. The rapid advancement of plastics technology means that new and improved products enter the market on a constant basis. In fact, the constant evolution and introduction of new products makes it difficult – if not impossible – to stay up-to-date on the many product options that are available today.
Fortunately, the Emco Industrial Plastics teams are specialists in this field. As the industry leading plastics distributor in North America, we maintain a substantial inventory of high performance, engineering and commodity plastics.
We carry the widest selection of industrial plastics in the industry. Our team of experts has extensive knowledge and experience with each and every product we offer. Whatever your specific needs might be, we will work closely with you to help identify the best product to achieve your goals.
Below are the highlights of some of the products we offer.
PCTFE, or PolyChloroTriFluoroEthylene, is a type of polymer that is fluorocarbon-based. PCTFE has a highly desirable combination of mechanical and physical properties that are not found in similar products. For example, it has a high level of flame resistance as well as chemical resistance. It does not absorb moisture and it highly resistant to cold. Its capacity for electrical insulation stands even which high levels of humidity.
PCTFE is popular for structural applications, as it has an exceptional level of compressive strength with minimal outgassing. This material is commonly used in applications that include aerospace, flight instrumentation and laboratory environments. Emco Industrial Plastics carries PCTFE in a variety of formats, including tube, rod and sheet stock.
PVDF, or Polyvinylidene Fluoride, is a type of thermoplastic fluoropolymer. This material, a polymer of vinylidene fluoride, is highly non-reactive. This specialty product is ideal for those applications that require the highest possible level of strength and purity. PVDF has an extremely high resistance to a variety of chemical substances and external conditions. It is resistant to UV rays, acids and bases as well as to solvents and nuclear radiation. In the event of fire, PVDF produces a low level of smoke. It is highly impermeable and renders a smooth surface for easy cleaning. PVDF has an exceptionally long lifespan and does not decay in the manner that many other materials do.
PDVF is valued for its ease of use in many applications, due to its improved performance in the melting process. This is due, in part, to the material’s minimal melting point. Some of the most common applications for PDVF are pharmaceutical processing, food processing, hoses, tubes, coatings, semiconductors, wire and cable. It is also commonly used in the automotive industry. Emco offers PDVF in a wide range of formats, including tube, rod, sheet, film and more.
Kynar® is a type of PDVF resin typically used as a coating composition. This product is valued for its exceptional performance in chemical resistance, high durability and long lifespan. Kynar resins have the ability to resist harsh environments while maintaining their high quality appearance. Some forms of Kynar are commonly used for static control.
In addition to the materials outlined above, we have countless other industrial plastics options for you to choose from.
The right material option for your needs will depend on whether you are looking for a wear-resistant plastic, impact-resistant plastic, corrosion-resistant plastic, or something else entirely. We have plastics that are approved by various regulatory agencies, including NSF-approved plastics, FDA-approved plastics, USDA-approved plastics and a variety of medical-grade plastics. We also have static control plastics and biodegradable plastics to meet your needs.
