Flame Retardant ABS

Prime ABS 860 FR Overview

Prime ABS 860 FR is an ignition-resistant ABS sheet designed for interior applications that require consistent processing and reliable performance. It delivers a balance of toughness, heat distortion resistance, and machining stability.

This material is widely selected within engineering plastics applications where interior safety standards and fabrication flexibility are required. It is used across appliance manufacturing, transportation interiors, and electronic housings.

Prime ABS 860 FR supports standard fabrication methods used in engineered plastics processing. It can be:

• Screwed
• Drilled
• Routed
• Punched
• Die-cut

Material thickness ranges from .060" to .400", with multiple surface textures available including Calf Grain, HC, RM, Seville, Levant II, FL/HC, and Diamond Plate. Color matching is available for project-specific requirements. 

Royalite® R15 & R24 Fire-Rated ABS

Royalite® R15 and R24 are fire-rated ABS thermoplastic sheet materials used in interior environments requiring impact strength and stiffness. R24 is UL 94HB rated at .060" and above across all colors and conforms to MVSS 302 at .050" and above.

These materials support fabrication needs where formability and durability are required at the same time. Royalite® products are commonly used in engineering plastics applications involving transportation interiors and manufactured assemblies.

R24 performs well in thermoforming processes and supports use cases requiring repeatable forming quality without loss of structural integrity.

 

Fire-Rated ABS Applications

Fire-retardant ABS materials are used in environments where weight, durability, and compliance matter.

In aircraft interiors, overhead luggage compartments use ABS and similar materials because they carry frequent mechanical load while staying lightweight. These components depend on stable engineered plastics materials that maintain form under repeated use.
