Vespel® SP-21 is enhanced with 15% graphite by weight which is added to the base resin for increased resistance and reduced friction in applications such as bearings, thrust washers, bushings, seal rings, slide blocks, and other wear applications.
Vespel® SP-21 has the highest mechanical properties of the graphite filled grades. Automotive engineers love to use Vespel® SP-21 for parts like thrust washers, bearings, and seals because the low-friction properties means they work with or without lubrication.
