Types of PTFE (Teflon & TFE)

PTFE, Unfilled

PTFE (PolyTetraFluoroEthylene) a fluorocarbon-based polymer, is also known by Dupont’s brand name Teflon®, and commonly used in its virgin (unfilled) state.

PTFE, Unfilled
PTFE, Acetal Filled

PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) is a known solid lubricant and when used as filler improves the tribology properties (wear and friction resistance) of a broad range of base polymers. See Acetal – PTFE Fillled.

PTFE, Acetal Filled
PTFE, Glass Filled

Virgin PTFE is capable in its own right, but when fillers, such as glass, are added, it enhances the material wear and deformation characteristics to more fully exploit their unique combination of chemical, physical and electrical properties.

PTFE, Glass Filled
PTFE, Carbon Filled

Virgin PTFE is capable in its own right, but when fillers, such as carbon, are added, it enhances the material wear and deformation characteristics to more fully exploit their unique combination of chemical, physical and electrical properties.

PTFE (PolyTetraFluoroEthylene), a fluorocarbon-based polymer, is also known by Dupont’s brand name Teflon® and also as Furon’s brand name Rulon®. It is commonly used in its virgin (unfilled) state.

PTFE Machining & Fabrication

Emco Industrial Plastics offers custom PTFE machining and fabricating for industrial applications.

PTFE, Metal Filled

Virgin PTFE is capable in its own right, but when fillers, such as metal, are added, it enhances the material wear and deformation characteristics to more fully exploit their unique combination of chemical, physical and electrical properties.

PTFE, Metal Filled
PTFE + Mica Mineral Filled

This fluoroplastic family offers plastics with high chemical resistance, low and high temperature capability, resistance to weathering, low friction, electrical and thermal insulation, and “slipperiness.”

PTFE + Mica Mineral Filled
PTFE, Moly Filled

Virgin PTFE is capable in its own right, but when mineral fillers, such as molybdenum sulfide, are added, it enhances the material wear and deformation characteristics to more fully exploit their unique combination of chemical, physical and electrical properties.

PTFE, Moly Filled
PTFE, PPS Filled

PTFE polytetrafluoroethylene) is a known solid lubricant and when used as filler improves the tribology properties (wear and friction resistance) of a broad range of base polymers.

PTFE, PPS Filled
Rulon PTFE

Rulon® is the trade name for a family of proprietary PTFE fluoropolymer compounds and other inert ingredients. This family of materials offers the combination of high compressive strengths, low coefficient of friction, and excellent abrasion and corrosion resistance while running without lubrication.
