ECTFE is a fluoropolymer marketed under the brand name Halar® by Solvay Solexis who is the only producer of Halar® ECTFE.

Halar® ECTFE is a copolymer of ethylene and chlorotrifluoroethylene. Made from the toughest of all fluoropolymers, this material has nylon-like durability with excellent mechanical properties, thermal, and chemical resistance with an outstanding ease of processability. In addition, Halar® has extremely low permeability to liquids, gases, and vapors. It is resistant to most chemicals (including acids, alkalines, and organic solvents) except hot amines and ketones. These characteristics in addition to a broad service use temperature range have made Halar® ECTFE the choice for several applications in the field of corrosion protection in the chemical, pharmaceutical, and microelectronics industries.
