Made from extremely fine glass fibers, fiberglass is used as a reinforcing agent for many polymer products. The resulting composite material is properly known as glass-reinforced plastic (GRP) in Britain, fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) in the USA, or by the trade name Fiberglass, which has become a genericized trademark.
Molded Gratings are a one-piece, reinforced polyester or vinylester (FRP) grating. These products have the best bi-direction mechanical properties with good chemical resistance. They are widely used as work floors, stair treads, and trench covers in corrosive environments where fabrication is extensive. Industries benefiting from molded FRP grating include food processing, beverage, chemical processing, water/wastewater treatment, metal finishing, pulp/paper, transportation, pharmaceutical, textile, oil/gas and mining/smelting refineries, power generation, sewage treatment, and oceanographic survey fields.
Class I fire rating is achieved through the addition of fire retardant resins. UV inhibitors are incorporated to provide protection and color stability for applications involving continuous exposure to the sun.
Standard grating panels are available in several resin systems, two top surface configurations, several panel sizes, and five standard grid patterns.
