Extruded Nylon is available in sheet, rod, and tube. The most common types of extruded nylon are types 6/6 and 101. Nylon was the first engineering resin and is used in a wide field of applications ranging from electronic, marine, and automotive industries. Extruded Nylon 6/6 has outstanding wear resistance and low frictional properties whilst also exhibiting very good temperature, chemical and impact properties.
Other extruded polyamide types are PA 6 and PA 12. These nylon plastic types differ in the properties they represent because of differences in molecular structure. These differences especially affect mechanical properties and moisture absorption of the nylon.
The addition of glass fibers to nylon in various amounts (10%, 20%, 30% and 40%) increases tensile strength, stiffness, compressive strength, and a lower thermal expansion coefficient over conventional unfilled grades.
Nylon Extruded Type 6/12One of the most common industrial plastics used today is Nylon. When it was first introduced to the toothbrush in the last 1930’s, it swiftly caught the attention of engineers and was transformed into into other things.
Nylon 6/6 – Commercial GradeNylon 6/6 has a much higher melting point, better mechanical properties due to greater hardness, and lower water absorption than cast nylon.
Nylon Extruded Type 6/6 UnfilledNylon filled with Kevlar® aramid fibers result in a material that is strong, tough, and resists wear – up to 20 times greater than nylon alone. This thermoplastic composite outperforms metals, glass, or other reinforced plastics.
Nylon Extruded Type 6/6 MoS2 And Kevlar Fiber FilledNylon 6/6 is very easy to modify with fillers, fibers, internal lubricants, and impact modifiers. Glass Filled nylon Variants of this nylon exhibit increased structural and impact strength, and rigidity.
