We maintain a vast inventory of materials and a 50,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility where we offer injection molding, laser cutting, CNC machining, plastic welding, custom fabrication, and more. From medical-grade plastics to chemical processing, food and beverage, and OEM replacement parts, we partner with companies in a number of industries and applications to meet their fabrication and distribution needs.

What to Look for in a Plastics Supplier

Plastics SupplierYour ideal manufacturing partner will have a history of excellent work and satisfied clients, and they will work closely with you to ensure your products meet your specifications and expectations. A domestic manufacturer offers several advantages: they're easier to contact, because they are, at most, just a few time zones away, and your finished products won't have to travel as far to reach you. If the company also relies on local supply chains and partners, you're even less likely to experience delays in your order.

Emco Industrial Plastics offers hundreds of materials in various forms, including sheets, rods, profiles, and tubes. The right material choice can make all the difference in your product, and an experienced manufacturer can help you determine which type of plastic is best for your application.

Plastics Machining & Fabrication Services

At Emco, we offer a variety of fabrication and machining techniques to ensure we can create precise plastic components for you, no matter your application or the size of the production run.

CNC Machining

Computer numerical control (CNC) machining is an automated reductive process guided by computer-aided design (CAD). It takes less time and human labor than some other techniques, and reduces the risk of human error as it precisely replicates parts. We can manage high-volume production with a range of CNC processes, including drilling, forming, grinding, sanding, punching, milling, tooling, welding, and more.

Laser Cutting

This process is commonly used for prototyping before beginning a major production run. It allows for extreme accuracy in even the most complex designs. At Emco, we use our Multicam 2000 to cut and polish pieces from substrates up to one inch thick. Applications include machining control panels, etching nameplates and signs, raster engraving, shaping acrylic edges for a high-quality finish, and vector cutting.

Hand and Extrusion Welding

Welding isn't just for metal. Certain plastics, including chlorinated polyvinylchloride, polyethylene, polypropylene, polyvinylchloride, and polyvinyldenefluoride, can be welded together via a manual welding process. You can only weld the same type of plastic with itself; for example, polyurethane can only be welded to polyurethane, but not to polyethylene or other types of plastic. The welding methods are common for making ducts and fittings, fume hoods, molded tanks for wastewater treatment and chemical processes, sinks with one-piece cabinets, spin dryers, and more.

Edge Finishing, Forming, and Polishing

Rough plastic edges look unfinished and unprofessional. We offer polishing and buffing to create smooth finished surfaces that reflect the high quality of your product and brand. We can create various types of finishes, including milled edges with a frosted finish, flame-polished edges for decorative purposes, full- and half-beveled softened edges, roundover edges, and bullnose edges.

Drape/Oven Forming

This fabrication method involves placing a thin sheet of plastic over a mold, and using heat to soften the plastic until it takes the form of the mold. It offers several advantages, including a low production cost, and it can be used with various plastic materials and sheet thicknesses. The plastic retains a uniform thickness and its pre-process surface finish after the oven forming process is complete.

Vacuum Forming

This is similar to drape forming, but the plastic is heated before being placed over the mold. It's a useful technique when producing parts with multiple components, as vacuum forming is quick and efficient with low tooling costs.

Injection Molding

This is a fast process that's used to make many consumer goods. At Emco, we offer turnkey injection molding services, including design and engineering, testing and modifying, and packaging and shipping.

Custom Fabrication

We specialize in custom solutions to create precise components while minimizing waste. Our state-of-the-art facility can produce tolerances within ±0.005 inches with close-tolerance plastics, and we can machine plastic substrates as thin as 0.001 inches. Techniques include die cutting, drape forming, edge finishing, infrared heating, sand blasting, solvent welding, thermoforming, and more.
