Ultem® is a polyetherimide compound that is highly resistant to heat, moisture, solvents, and flame. It performs well in high temperature environments and can be sterilized in autoclaves. Ultem® is a strong, stiff material and has excellent dielectric properties. It is used as an alternative to polysulfone due to its superior temperature resistance, strength, and stiffness. FDA-compliant grades are available. It is manufactured by SABIC.
