Ultem® 1000 is a thermoplastic polyetherimide high heat polymer designed for injection molding processing. Through the development of new extrusion technology, Ultem 1000 is produced in a variety of stock shapes and sizes. Ultem® 1000 combines excellent machinablity and provides a cost savings benefit over PES, PEEK, and Kapton in high heat applications(continuous use to 340 degrees F). Ultem® 1000 has exceptional flame resistance with a limiting oxygen index and low NBS smoke evolution, it is ideally suited for interior components in aircraft, bus, medical, steam auto clave resistance, and other vehicles where such properties are required.
