These physical properties in addition to its ability to be easily machined. thermoformed. and welded have led to the wide use of HDPE on food processing. packaging. and conveying equipment. HDPE is also non-toxic and non-staining and meets FDA and USDA certification for food processing.
The majority of HDPE is available with a textured surface in either black or white. although sheets approved for FDA and USDA use are available in a range of colors to help with process identification and aid in preventing cross contamination in food groups. It is available in large sheets that can be cut to fit most counter tops. Bacteria. odors and cleaning fluids wash completely off.
